Liposuction and Waist Contouring

Liposuction and waist contouring is a procedure for people who, despite physical activity and a healthy diet, cannot achieve a defined waistline. The procedure involves suctioning fat from the sides of the abdomen and lower ribs, resulting in a slimmer, more feminine or athletic figure.

Liposuction and Waist Contouring

Liposuction with waist contouring is a surgical procedure aimed at feminizing the torso contour by selectively removing fat tissue from the abdomen, waist, sides, and back. For transgender people (MtF), the procedure is one of the pillars of body contouring — it helps to achieve a slim waist, a more pronounced curve, and optically widen the hips, bringing the figure closer to typically feminine proportions.

The course of the procedure

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia by a plastic surgery specialist.

The incisions are made in natural skin creases – in front of and behind the ear, sometimes with an additional incision under the chin (in cases of advanced neck sagging).

The SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer is precisely tightened and lifted.

Excess skin is removed and the incision lines are closed with great care to ensure aesthetic scarring.

The whole process usually takes about 2–3 hours.

The patient remains under the care of the clinic – usually 1 day of hospitalization.

Recovery and post-treatment recommendations:

Pain, tenderness, and swelling are possible during the first 5–7 days.

Wearing special compression garments for a minimum of 6 weeks – available at the clinic, individually selected

Avoid strenuous physical activity for 4 weeks

Return to office work after approximately 5–7 days

Initial results visible after approx. 3 weeks, final results after 3–6 months

Follow-up visits: after 7 days, 1 month, and 3 months

Possible complications and risks:

Hematoma or bleeding requiring drainage

Infection requiring antibiotic therapy

Transient or rarely persistent sensory disturbances in the face or auricle

Hypertrophic or discolored scars – minimized thanks to precise suturing techniques

Asymmetry requiring correction

Prolonged swelling or bruising

Unsatisfactory aesthetic result requiring possible reoperation
