Preparation for the procedure:
The procedure is preceded by a consultation with Dr. Aleksandra Łuniewska, a plastic surgery specialist.
Recommended preparation includes:
laboratory tests (complete blood count, coagulation, CRP)
ECG, anesthesiology consultation
discontinuation of anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory drugs 10 days prior to the procedure (after consulting a physician)
no smoking or alcohol consumption for at least 2 weeks
personal hygiene and no use of creams/lotions on the day of the procedure
The course of the procedure
Arm plastic surgery takes approximately 1.5–2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
The surgeon makes an incision along the inner surface of the arm (sometimes extending to the armpit), removes excess skin and fat tissue, and then precisely sutures the wounds in layers.
If necessary, the procedure is combined with arm liposuction.
After the operation, dressings and special compression sleeves are applied.
The patient returns home after a few hours or stays overnight at the clinic.
Recovery and post-treatment recommendations:
Nie Wearing compression sleeves for a minimum of 6 weeks
Avoid physical exertion and lifting your arms for 3–4 weeks.
No sunbathing on scars for at least 6 months
After about 4 weeks: start massaging the scars and using the recommended preparations.
It is recommended to sleep with your hands slightly raised (on pillows) for the first few days.
Follow-up visit after 7–14 days (removal of stitches), subsequent visits: after 1, 3, 6, and 12 months
Possible complications and risks:
Hematomas, infections, delayed healing
Discoloration or scar hypertrophy
Asymmetry, contour irregularity
Sensory disturbances in the skin around the operated area
Rare: need for reoperation
