Preparation for the procedure:
Each patient undergoes an individual consultation with Dr. Aleksandra Łuniewska, a plastic surgery specialist. The following are required:
Laboratory tests
Breast ultrasound (if breast correction is planned), anesthesiologist consultation
discontinuation of anticoagulant medication at least 10–14 days prior to the procedure
complete cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption at least 2 weeks prior to the procedure
stable body weight over the last 3 months
The course of the procedure
The Mommy Makeover procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the scope of the surgery. The most commonly performed procedures:
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with rectus muscle correction and excess skin removal
Breast lift, augmentation, or reduction (depending on the patient's needs)
Liposuction – abdomen, waist, thighs, or back
Labiaplasty – correction of the labia minora
In the case of extensive surgery, procedures may be divided into two stages for safety reasons
After the operation, the patient stays in the clinic for at least one day under the care of medical staff.
Recovery and post-treatment recommendations:
For the first 2 weeks – rest, move in a slightly bent position (after abdominoplasty)
Wearing compression garments for a minimum of 8 weeks
Dressings and sutures cared for according to the doctor's recommendations
No sunbathing, physical activity, or heavy lifting for 6 weeks
Avoid strenuous physical activity and bending over for at least 4–6 weeks.
No sunbathing or solarium use for at least 6 months – SPF 50 protection required
After 4–6 weeks: introduction of scar massage and preparations supporting their healing
Follow-up visits: approximately 1 month after the procedure, then after 3, 6, and 12 months
Possible complications and risks:
Hematoma, infection, delayed wound healing
Scars – discolored, hypertrophic (rare, depending on predisposition)
Asymmetry of the breasts or intimate areas
Dissatisfaction with the aesthetic effect – possible correction
Thrombosis (minimized by prevention and compression)
Prolonged swelling or bruising
Thanks to thorough qualification, operating room conditions, and an experienced surgical team, the risk of complications is minimized at Luna Clinic.
